Our Story
Our journey began in Manhattan’s Financial District, where we opened a franchised Poké location in early 2020. Just a few months in, the world changed. Like many small businesses, we were forced to close our doors due to the global pandemic.
At home during lockdown, we turned to what brought us comfort, creating Poké dishes in our kitchen using fresh ingredients and flavors from our Mexican heritage. That’s when the idea hit us: why not start something of our own? A Poké spot that fuses fresh Hawaiian cuisine with the vibrant soul of the food we grew up with.
We knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we believed in the vision. In July 2020, Poké Tiky Bar was born. Five years later, we’re proud to still be here, sharing our story, serving our community, and delivering bowls packed with flavor, culture, and heart.
What is Poké?
Most are probably familiar with Poké being titled as Hawaiian Poké. It can be seen on the pages of almost any sushi menu today. The dish originated in Hawaii and is a mostly raw salad served as an appetizer or main course. Poké always comes out cut and diced.
We have taken this classic Hawaiian dish and added a touch of Mexico to it. We use Tuna, Salmon, Shrimp, Seaweed, and Vegetables, but also added Mexican ingredients like Mango, Jalapeño, Avocado and more. So, before that business meeting, next shift, or simplemente fiesta, come by Poké Tiky Bar and give yourself a treat. Make a good day by going Poké today and tomorrow!
